Welcome—my name is Marcus. Everything you see here is made by me using a process called lampworking, also known as flame working. Flame working is a specialized form of glassblowing where borosilicate glass rods and tubes are shaped in the flame of a torch to create one-of-a-kind functional and sculptural art. I work primarily with a GTT Mirage torch from my home studio

My interest in glass began in 2016 while working at a dispensary in Colorado. I was selling glass pipes when coworkers introduced me to the world of heady glass. Learning that these pieces were made entirely by hand—by a single artist—immediately captured my attention. Intrigued, I signed up for two beginner lampworking classes, and with just a few hours of experience, I began building my own studio.

Since then, I’ve taken additional classes, but I consider myself largely self-taught. Most of the color in my blown glass comes from a process called fuming. I use precious metals like 24k gold and .999 silver mixed with clear glass to create a rainbow of colors. With different background color and lighting, the piece dances with color changes and sparkle.

I began stained glass in Winter of 2024 to expand my glass knowledge and create colorful pieces for any living space. The process of stained glass is entirely different than blown glass and both of these arts deeply satisfy my need to create in very different ways.
